Take Time To See The Color In Life

This is a response to the one word prompt “colorful” by “The Daily Post.”

We are always busy in life, each and every day. It seems that our weeks are always so full of things to do that we really have time to just sit back and relax and enjoy life. Oh sure, there are times that we put aside to do fun things, to go to the movies or see a play. But again, those are just a part of our daily schedule, something that we pencil into our calendars. We may very much enjoy doing such things, but are not really taking the time to enjoy the “little things.”

The world is a very colorful place with its blue sky (sometimes orange/red at sunset), its flowers, trees and animal life. There is the soft wind on a hot day; so much that we don’t take the time to fully appreciate in our daily lives. Some of my best moments are when I am going for walks or am experiencing a very beautiful sunset. It’s at those times when you experience nature that I am at my most thoughtful.

Almost no one enjoys long waits at the doctor’s office or waits of any kind, I am the same, but actually, if you just sit back and relax, pick up a book or a magazine (or smart-phone) those can be times of most thoughtful activity. When we take a step back from our busy schedules and see that no matter what is happening or has happened to you, that there is color in such, we are more able to appreciate the world and everything that happens in it and our life. When we are more able to appreciate all the colors in life, we are able to enjoy life more and be at ease no matter what happens.

Life is not just about getting things done, it is more than that. Life is about taking enjoyment in all it has to offer, the good the bad and all the things that interfere with your busy schedule. So remember when you get up in the morning each day and contemplate all you have to do, it is not all black and white but actually very colorful.
