The Importance and Search for Harmony

This is a response to the one-word prompt “Harmony” by “The Daily Post.”

Life can be and is chaotic. It is long, filled with hardships, and often very unpredictable. Yet, at the same time life is not only these things; there is joy, meaning, and purpose to life. The key to living one’s life most effectively is to find the balance between the two aspects of life and to be able to balance them in your life. Life requires harmony.  It requires us to accept both the good and the bad in the world of life and to acknowledge that both exists.

We all want harmony in our lives, and we all seek it out, but perhaps that is our problem, that we put too much effort into finding harmony, that we can easily miss when it appears. Perhaps all we really need to do is in all everyday lives going about our “things” we just keep our “eyes” open for when harmony presents itself; so that we can actually take enjoyment of that harmony when we get it. Life, in order to have harmony, requires us to enjoy the “simple pleasures” and “small things.”

So what are your thoughts on the subject? Do you have harmony in your life; what does it look life? For me, harmony is taking things slow or trying too, and enjoying nature to put things into perspective.
